We’re joining with several groups to protest CISPA, the “Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.” Read this letter we signed urging the President to veto CISPA (pdf).

CISPA allows private companies to…
* break their own privacy agreements…
* spy on my Internet activities…
* share my information with federal agencies—INCLUDING the secretive NSA!I won't know who has my information or if it will ever be used against me.
Even worse, I can't trust the courts to strike down CISPA, even though it violates the 4th Amendment. The Supreme Court's criminal “Clapper v. Amnesty International” ruling makes me certain the Court will give CISPA a pass.
Plaintiffs challenged the top-secret warrantless wiretapping program, but because the program is so secret, they couldn't “prove” they were themselves the victims of spying. So the Court simply dismissed the case.
This decision also makes it nearly impossible to challenge CISPA. If CISPA passes…
* We won't know if we’re being spied on.
* Our lack of “proof” means the Court won't let us defend our Fourth Amendment rights.The courts have failed, but YOU can honor your oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution.”
That's why you must OPPOSE CISPA. I'll be watching what you do.
Failure to do the right thing will be more evidence that Congress and the federal “government” has lost its legitimacy.
