Today’s Subject: A “Read the Bills” Surge
Rye Terrell’s project to promote Downwsize DC and the “Read the Bills Act” through Digg.com was a smashing success. It resulted in . . .
* Nearly 400 new DC Downsizers. (Welcome to all the new people!)
* At least 13 blog posts and web articles
* 3 last-minute radio interviews (Listed at DownsizeDC.org blog)
* And boosted the number of RTBA messages to Congress to more than 67,000
Mr. Terrell’s Digg post is still ticking along at more than 2,300 Diggs (a very high number). It peaked as the #1 story in political opinion, was on page two of all Newly Popular at Digg and was in the top ten “most-traffic” items for most of Wednesday.
We’re going to do more of this in the future.
Meanwhile, we have only two action items for today. First, March is getting long in the tooth, and we still have to raise $5,880 to meet our budget for this month. Obviously, we’re growing but we need to maintain that momentum, and that means we need sufficient financial support. If you can help with a contribution, do so HERE.
