A report on YOUR progress

Quote of the Day: “The natural proclivity of democratic governments is to pursue public policies which concentrate benefits on the well-organized and well-informed, and disperse the costs on the unorganized and ill-informed.” —  Peter Boettke

Subject: A report on YOUR progress

We’re making lots of progress. This is YOUR progress, because everything we do depends on you, and on the Downsize DC Army. Thank you for making our growth possible.

With 3 days left in July, here’s where we stand…

New registered users of our Educate the Powerful System: Last month the number was 994. So far this month the number is 1,594. That’s an increase of 600! Thank you!

Letters to Congress: Last month the number was 43,291 letters. So far this month the number is 48,840. That’s an increase of 5,549, and another important goal met. Thank you!

The Downsize DC Army: At the end of June it stood at 26,105 (subscribers). As of yesterday it now stands at 27,522. That’s an increase of 1,417 in less than a month! Thank you.

It took us 176 days to grow from 24,000 to 25,000. Then just 59 days to get to 26,000, and a mere 16 days to get to 27,000.

14 days have passed since we reached 27,000 members/subscribers, so it would take an extra hard push to reach 28,000 in less than the 16 days it took us to go from 26,000 to 27,000. The easiest way to do that is to follow our super-simple instructions for personalized recruiting. Try it!

We’re also hard at work preparing to promote the “Read the Bills Act” to the media. Reporters and columnists are paying increased attention to our idea. The latest example is an Op-ed in the Philadelphia Inquirer that’s also been reprinted in the Hampton Roads Daily Press.

The potential for rapid growth through media outreach is huge, but to achieve that potential we must continue to hit our fundraising marks too. Here’s how we’re doing . . .

* We recruited 19 new pledgers in June. We have 16 so far in July. We need just 4 more in the next 3 days to meet our goal of exceeding what we did last month. Can you be one of the 4?

* We had 26 one-time donations in June. We have 26 so far in July. We need just 1 more in the next three days to meet our goal of exceeding what we did last month. Can you be that one?

If we always do more than we did before, we’re certain to reach our goal. Downsize DC!

Please help us do this by starting a monthly credit card pledge — it can be as low as $5 a month (which is just 17 cents per day). You can start your pledge using our secure online contribution form.
