What happened on the primary Presidential campaign trail, especially with candidate Ron Paul?

It was, frankly, the best deal we could’ve hoped for — short of just leaving well enough alone and letting the Protect America Act sunset. The fight isn’t over. We need to keep the pressure up because the Senate Intelligence Committee bill and this new House Democratic leadership version are now going to be hammered out in conference committee.
