I sent the following letter to Congress using our Cap The Debt Campaign. The hardwired message for that campaign reads…
Do not raise the debt ceiling ever again.
To this I added the following personal comments, which you may copy or edit…..
You already collect enough money.
You don’t need to borrow more. You need to cut spending instead.
The intelligent way to do that is by holding votes on individual spending items. Start doing that now. Many will fail to win majority support. GOOD!
Please know that I consider the so-called government “shutdown” a complete fraud. You haven’t shut down the collection of my taxes. So if you want to default on something, you should start there.
