Thousands of “citizen-lobbyists” are converging on DC this week to encourage Congress to enact even more hostile measures against Iran.
Congress should, at least, hear from the rest of us who think this is immoral and insane.
Please tell Congress that you oppose conflict with Iran.

* Aggression — initiating harm or appointing others to do harm on your behalf — is immoral.
* Preventing voluntary trade between individuals — even with individuals in other countries — is aggression.
* Non-defensive war is aggression.
* Policies based on aggression lead to destruction and misery.Congress's actions are fundamentally immoral.
Consider a House bill (HR 850) imposing a virtually complete embargo against Iran — and sanctions on countries trading with Iran.

* the potential of trade wars with other nations, like China, leading to…
* continued worldwide economic stagnation.Even worse, a Senate Resolution (S Res 65) says that the U.S. should support Israel, EVEN MILITARILY, if Israel chooses to attack Iran.

* make any good-faith negotiation impossible…
* allow Israel's Prime Minister, not Congress, to decide when America fights another unwinnable war.It will also…
* increase the national debt…
* put markets on edge for weeks or months, delaying growth, and…
* if an attack occurs, mess with oil prices.All of this, for what? You don't even have EVIDENCE Iran is even pursuing a nuclear weapon!
How is ANY of this in the interests of the American people?

* OPPOSE HR 850. Open up trade with Iran instead.
* OPPOSE S Res 65. Do NOT undermine the President's diplomatic efforts.Admittedly, I expect you to ignore these demands. But I will let my neighbors know Congress's aggressive, anti-Iran hysteria is another reason I do NOT consent to being “governed” by you.
