Last Chance to Stop Obamacare?

ACTION ITEM

Your voice is being heard!

On September 17, we encouraged you to tell your Representatives and Senators to defund Obamacare in the Continuing Resolution (CR) spending bill.

The House did what you asked. Victory!

Now, it's in the Senate. Democratic Senators have a chance to do what most Americans want. With 51 votes, Obamacare CAN be defunded.

And if the President vetoes the bill, he'll be the one responsible for a government “shutdown.”

This could be your last chance for years. If a CR passes WITHOUT the defunding provision, Obamacare will begin implementation in earnest, as soon as October 1.

So let's keep up the pressure. Please tell Congress once again to repeal Obamacare.

The hardwired message says simply…

I want you to repeal Obamacare.

You may borrow from or copy these additional sample comments…

This letter has been sent to my Representative and Senators…

I also want you to DEFUND Obamacare so that it won't be implemented. That's why I demand my Senators vote AGAINST the Reid Amendment, and preserve the defunding provision of the House-passed CR.

I support defunding because AN UNJUST LAW CANNOT WORK.

And Obamacare is clearly unjust…

First, it forces me to pay a tax if I choose not to enroll. That's a tax on my very existence! Does my body belong to me or to the Congress?

Second, it infringes on my right to earn a living. Under Obamacare, rules and mandates will make hiring employees more expensive. Full-time hiring will decline; unemployment and poverty will rise.

Third, Obamacare is undemocratic. The American people hate it. It was passed against their will, and opposition has only expanded. Congress should respect this. Some Senators will find that voting for it will be costly politically.

Finally, Obamacare is ill-conceived. It empowers insurance companies and government bureaucrats at the expense of patients and doctors.

* Does limiting patient choice and options improve healthcare?
* Should doctors answer to consumers first, or to third parties like insurance companies, or worse, The State?

Access, quality, and price of healthcare will only improve if providers answer to consumers, just as they do in the computer industry and many other fields. You should work for MORE freedom in healthcare, not less.

To expand freedom and progress in healthcare, first, you MUST defund Obamacare!

—END LETTER—

You can send your letter using DownsizeDC.org’s Educate the Powerful System.

You will receive a copy of your letter to Congress via email. Please share your letter with friends and ask them to take the same action.

Also, we're nearing the end of the month. We're $2,656 shy of our budget need.

  • Someone reading this could cover all, or nearly all of this shortfall. Are you that someone?
  • Of course, lots of donations, of varying amounts, could also make the difference.
  • We also need nine more new monthly pledgers.

Your generous one-time contribution or monthly pledge will help us keep the pressure on Congress.

At that link, you'll find payment options for Mastercard, Discover, Visa, American Express, PayPal, Bitcoin, or mailing a check.

Thank you for your support,

Jim Babka

President
