NEW CAMPAIGN: Stop the Online Gambling Ban

Meet the billionaire casino mogul who wants to cheat his competition #tlot ReTweet

As we told you July 1, casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson is pressuring Congress to ban Internet gambling. His lobbyists are gunning for a vote this month!

The bill is the “Restoration of America’s Wire Act” (RAWA).It has powerful sponsors…

  • Presidential candidates Lindsey Graham and Marco Rubio in the Senate
  • Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz in the House

The bill might pass! It almost did last year.

That's why DownsizeDC.org has a NEW CAMPAIGN: Stop the Online Gambling Ban.

Tell Congress to oppose RAWA. You may borrow from or copy these comments…

Sheldon Adelson wants you to pass RAWA. He’s spending a fortune to “persuade” you.

But it’s obvious what motivates him. He wants to eliminate competition for his casinos.

That’s crony capitalism at its worst.

He claims he wants to protect Americans from making bad decisions, but what about the bad choices people make in his casinos? In reality, our choices are our business, not his, or yours. This bill is nanny-statism at its worst.

I DO NOT CONSENT!

Remember…

You are supposed to represent me, not sell yourself to Sheldon Adelson.

Your JOB is to support the Constitution, which leaves matters like gambling to the states and the people. The Tenth Amendment says so.

You have no moral right, and no legitimate power, to be my nanny.

OPPOSE RAWA!

–END OF LETTER–

Send your letter here.

We do NOT forward emails to Congress! Instead, we…

  • Use your contact information to fill out web forms located at your elected reps' websites,
  • Do this in such a way that your reps know you are one of their constituents, and
  • Deliver your letter to both your Representative and your two Senators simultaneously.

But if you have an “easy-to-remember” password, or you stay logged-in, sending your three letters is as simple as sending one email. So we can see why people think that's what we do!

On top of that, we don't charge for this service! Instead…
