Say goodbye to copy & paste

Our first message in this series told you that our Educate the Powerful (ETP) System was losing a technological arms race, particularly against a new form of CAPTCHA being deployed by Congress.

In our second message, we introduced CQRC Engage, a piece of software that will…

  • Overcome technological hurdles (like CAPTCHAs) ensuring delivery, while…
  • Cutting our maintenance costs by as much as 60%, plus…
  • Give you 15 ADDITIONAL powers (see the list to the right)

This message covers two of those new powers.

To start with, you’ll no longer copy & paste our sample letters. That step will be gone. Instead…

When you click the link in a newsletter Action Item, the sample letter will be waiting on the website for you! You can edit it there if you wish. Or you can just hit “send.”

That’s much easier than our old cut and paste method!

We expect that making messages even easier to send will translate into more messages sent to Congress. But that’s not all!

Our ETP made it convenient for you to send three letters simultaneously: one to your local Representative and one each to your two Senators. You will STILL have this power, but…

With Engage, you’ll also be able to more precisely target who you want to receive each message. You’ll be able to write to all of your reps individually or send the same message to all three at once.

Consider the case where a DC Downsizer is represented by one Republican and two Democrats. Perhaps they’d want to send one missive to the Republican and a second letter to both of the other two. Now, they’ll be able to do that!

As we explained earlier in this message series, the annual fee for the Engage software, combined with the initial capital investment to convert our data, content, and website to this new system comes to a grand total $38,000.

We’ve already raised a significant amount of that fund and leased the software! Now we only need another $18,414 to finish the project.

Can you help us with that?

In return, we will…

  • Place your name on a Refounders roster that will appear at the bottom of this series of messages
  • Put that Refounders roster on the About Us page of our new site, next to the original founders

The “Refounders – 2016” will be listed in rank order based on the size of their gift. Monthly credit card pledgers will be “annualized” for ranking purposes.

Please consider starting or increasing a monthly, credit card pledge.

Please demonstrate your confidence in our plan by investing the largest contribution that will make you feel good. Remember, your donation will be memorialized on the Re-founders 2016 roster.

Thank you for being a DC Downsizer,

Jim Babka
President

P.S. On our blog, there’s a permanent listing of all the messages in this series, where we share the plans and benefits of this new system called Engage. If you’ve missed any of the messages or would like to refer back, please visit that post titled “ALL the Benefits of Engage.

P.P.S. Ranking the list was not quite ready at press time, thanks to an exciting level of response! We will tweak our process so that we can update the list next week, which right now has more than 100 people who’ve responded.
