THE STARTING POINT FOR OPERATION EVERYWHERE:
DownsizeDC.org is finding, recruiting, educating, and mobilizing increasing numbers of people for an extremely low cost. It takes just $168,000 a year to do all of the above. Here’s what happens when we reach $168,000 + $1.
The bulk of the money we raise above $168,000 will go to advertising. This will lead to more recruiting, a bigger army, more pressure on Congress, more education, and more visibility for the idea of downsizing the federal government.
We firmly believe that the day must come when the case for downsizing is visible to everyone, everywhere, everyday. We call this Operation Everywhere. Operation Everywhere is a requirement, because the idea that government should grow without limits already has that kind of visibility.
Downsizers must match the visibility of the Upsizers in order to compete.
Accomplishing this goal could cost you as little as $3 a month. Does that seem unlikely? It’s not. We’re trying to build a mass movement that does mass communications. The more massive our mass is the lower the cost per person to achieve the kind of market penetration we need. We want to start applying this logic now.
We want to ask as many Downsizers as possible to make monthly credit card pledges of $3, $4, $5, $6, $7, $8, or $9. Large numbers of these micro-pledges can get us to the starting point for Operation Everywhere. And once we reach that point we think major donors will add their major support in a major way. But that’s merely icing on the cake. The core of the cake is this . . .
