With these aims in mind, here are the new tools we’ll be unveiling next week…
Personal Messages in Your Toolbox! You’ll be able to COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY with other DC Downsizers in your district, state or nationwide who have set recruitment goals. Now you’ll be able to talk to each other directly, about whatever you want, and expand your local influence together.
You’ll also be able to choose your own privacy settings, and use either your own name or a screen name on the site. In addition, there are a few other bells and whistles you’ll see in the new version of Your Downsize DC Toolbox…
We’ve provided you with a map of your district, and the other districts in your state. This is just a first step toward map-based tools that we’re developing.
There will also be a new page showing you information about your Congressional delegation.
Here’s what we’re trying to do…
We want to help you recruit people who ALREADY AGREE WITH YOU, so they will use our simple tools to help you get what you want. The number of people who ALREADY AGREE WITH YOU is so massive that just a tiny fraction of them is needed to completely overwhelm Congress.
It really is that simple!
We’re trying to do the same thing with our funding. We believe we can achieve our ultimate goals for as little as $1 per person per month. Here’s what we have right now…
* Out of 31,069 subscribers to the Dispatch…
* 524 support our work with monthly pledges ranging from $1 to $250 (for most of last year, we had a $1,000 per month pledger)
* 659 have made one-time donations ranging from $1 to $15,000
* 29,886 are NOT donors
If you’re in that last group, please consider starting a $1 monthly pledge, or making a one-time donation of at least $12. If every subscriber chipped in, we would expand our efforts by $358,632. That’s $100,000 more than we spent last year. We do so much with so little, and your help has a huge impact.
