Clawson wants to manufacture an incident to trick Americans into wanting war. He gives examples, all of which were examples of “crisis initiation.”
* McKinley and the Maine.
* Wilson and the Lusitania.
* FDR and Pearl Harbor.
* LBJ and the Gulf of Tonkin incident.
Clawson suggested this is “the traditional way America goes to war.” It appears he’s right. George W. Bush did it with the non-existent weapons of mass destruction.
Please be clear about this. Clawson is proposing a crime.
Meanwhile, the intelligence community is claiming that Iran has no nukes and that Iran lacks the capacity to build them. Despite having any contrary evidence, Clawson and his colleagues were clear in their presentations: They don’t trust the U.S. intelligence community.
