I told Congress to protect whistleblowers using DownsizeDC.org's “Deny Consent to “government” criminality” campaign.
Please do the same. You may borrow from or copy this letter…
Two years ago, Congress conspired to hide NSA crimes. (http://bit.ly/1rSSp1u)
That’s because you STRIPPED whistleblower protections for intelligence contractors like Edward Snowden in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Since then, contractors with a conscience, seeing crimes committed, were faced with these choices…
* report through internal channels, nearly guaranteeing retaliation…
* leak to the press anonymously, risking exposure and arrest, or …
* leak to the press PUBLICLY and flee the country, as Snowden had to do.
Without whistleblower protections, witnesses to the government's crimes have an incentive to KEEP THEIR MOUTHS CLOSED.
That means wrongdoing remains in the shadows. Even Congress doesn't know!
But if you protect whistleblowers…
* Federal agents will be held accountable, not knowing if they'll be reported by colleagues, meaning…
* less waste, fraud, and abuse, and…
* greater privacy and liberty for me.
Senate Amendment 3711 to the 2015 NDAA would RESTORE whistleblower protections.
PASS IT! Or, you'll AGAIN be guilty of aiding and abetting crime.
Choose integrity. PROTECT WHISTLEBLOWERS!
