Do your friends need a history lesson?

Memorial Day is coming, and historical truth is once again in danger Retweet

You hear people say it constantly, but especially on Memorial Day and Veterans Day…

U.S. soldiers died for our freedom, or to make our way of life possible.

Alas, nothing could be further from the truth. U.S. soldiers may have wanted to defend freedom or the country or to protect innocent people overseas, but that’s NOT how the politicians actually used them. Pretending otherwise is dangerous, especially for those who serve and their families.

Telling lies about U.S. military history increases the likelihood that more soldiers will be wounded and killed for fraudulent reasons. We try to correct this problem before (but not on) Memorial Day and Veterans Day each year. We do this by running a series of articles that review all the major U.S. wars of the past two hundred years. Please do the following…

  • Read the first article: Were early U.S. wars good or bad?
  • Share it with your friends. They didn’t learn this stuff in the government’s school!
  • Open the next Downsizer-Dispatch to get the next article in the series.

We’re going to put $5 into advertising this article. If you make a contribution or start a monthly pledge, we’ll increase the investment so that even more people see this article.

Thanks for being an ACTIVE DC Downsizer,
