Is imitation the most sincere form of flattery?

…we sure hope so. Recently, the CATO Institute, one of the major think tanks in Washington, released a new book by Chris Edwards. The title? “Downsizing the Federal Government.” The book is based on a study by Edwards published last year, and was introduced by a symposium appropriately called, “Downsizing Government.”

Most of the studies CATO produces are of a “downsizing” nature. In fact CATO, with an annual budget of $17 million, is probably the best known organization devoted to downsizing government, although we were the first to focus on the term “downsizing.” We are very happy (and flattered) to see CATO promoting the term too.

Given that we just plugged their book and lent them such a compelling title, we’d be even more “flattered” if CATO sent us a copy!
