Celebrate Memorial Day early by learning the real lessons of history Retweet
Have U.S. politicians ever used the military to defend freedom? Have U.S. wars tended to make the world better, or worse?
One of Downsize DC’s co-founders, Perry Willis, has spent decades studying these questions. The result is a series of articles we promote before events such as Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day.
These are among the most popular articles we’ve ever published. If you’ve read them before, then you know what I’m talking about. They deserve a re-read to refresh your memory. But if you haven’t read these articles before, you’re in for a treat.
The first article answers the question “Were early U.S. Wars good or bad?“ Prepare to encounter history you probably didn’t hear about in school. And stay tuned for the other installments in the days ahead.
Thank you for being an ACTIVE DC Downsizer,
Jim Babka, President

Given that the ONLY folks who have ever truly threatened (and destroyed) the freedoms, liberties, and way of life of American citizens, have been the parasites that infest our local, state, and federal governments (both elected and un-elected), the answer would clearly have to be NO. One might give some minimal credit for ships that actually defend out coastline, but since so many of them are used to fight an immoral war on drugs, enforce trade barriers that violate the freedoms of American consumers, etc. even those are debatable.
