The Scam Bill

Quote of the Day: “I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They’re not in danger of going under. I think they are in good shape going forward.” — Barney Frank (D-Mass.), House Financial Services Committee chairman, July 14, 2008

Subject: The Scam Bill

The House passed an $819 billion “stimulus” bill yesterday, 244 to 188. All 177 Republicans, plus 11 Democrats, opposed the bill. This doesn’t mean the battle is over. The Senate is considering a different variation of the bill and both chambers will have to vote again on a unified version. We must continue to fight.

We cannot make this point often enough. The new Democratic majority is doing exactly what the Republicans did before them, exploiting a crisis to perpetrate a scam.

We must repeat this constantly, to ourselves and to everyone we meet . . .

* President Bush exploited the 9-11 tragedy to try to re-engineer the world
* Now the Democrats are exploiting the financial crisis to re-engineer America

The evidence is piling high. The so-called stimulus bill is really a grab-bag of corporate welfare and social engineering projects.

Perhaps you’ve heard about the $200 million to buy condoms (and pay for other birth control projects). Is that really supposed to stimulate the economy, or something else? We think it’s Democratic social engineering, pure and simple. Democratic politicians want to see Americans behave in certain ways, and they’re willing to steal a trillion dollars from the productive economy to fund their pet preferences.

Here comes another one . . .

The Institute for Health Freedom reports that the stimulus bill, which we will now call the “Scam Bill,” “mandates electronic health records for every citizen without providing for opt-out or patient consent provisions.”

This isn’t economic stimulus, it’s top-down social engineering. It’s a scam. Bow down before the dreams of the politicians or forgo medical care.

It gets worse. We were teased with the prospect that the Bush tax cuts might be retained. Forget about it. Larry Summers, the President’s Senior Economic Adviser, announced on “Meet the Press” that the tax cuts would not be retained.

Why? Because the politicians need to pay for their Scam Bill by taking more money from the American people.

Think about what this means. They will take more money out of the economy through taxes in order to put more money back into the economy in the form of their social engineering projects, and their corporate welfare infrastructure projects (as demonstrated in yesterday’s message).

The politicians — just a few hundred people — think they can spend a trillion dollars better than 300 million Americans could. We don’t think anyone is that smart, especially people who excel at politics, which is a profession of exploitation and manipulation.

Consider Barney Frank, whose intelligence is constantly praised by media pundits. He was using his “intelligence” to proclaim the stability of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mere days before they went belly-up. But apparently he’s gotten even smarter since then, so much so that he can help spend hundreds of billions wisely.

And remember the TARP, the Big Bailout. We were told it would be used for one purpose, but within mere days the purpose was changed, and we still don’t know exactly where the money went. Scam! Scam! Scam!

Shout it to the far horizons. The TARP was a scam, and the stimulus bill is a scam too. Use our quick and easy Educate the Powerful System to send another message opposing the stimulus-scam bill.

You can use your personal comments to tell Congress that you consider this bill a scam, just like the TARP, and object to things like the condom provision and the mandatory electronic health records. Withdraw your consent!

Then educate, recruit, and increase the pressure on Congress by forwarding this message to others and “Digging” it on our blog.
