Resist Trump’s Hillary-style foreign policy

President Trump’s foreign policy is more like what Hillary proposed than what he promised Retweet

Our latest letter to President Trump (below) argues that his foreign policy is more like what Hillary Clinton proposed than what he promised. Consider using our letter to tell the President what you want.

Hillarump foreign policy

The hardwired letter to Congress reads…

You campaigned on the idea of doing less foreign intervention. But now you’re endangering my security through constant overseas meddling. I want you to reverse your stands on North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

The following sample letter is available on our website for you to send, edit, or replace…

Your recent designation of North Korea as a “state sponsor of terrorism” is a fake national security move. It’s pure posturing, but with a negative impact that will make us less secure. It allows you to look tough while increasing the North Korean regime’s feelings of insecurity. Make no mistake, those feelings of fear are the main motivation for the North Korean nuclear bomb program. And planned military maneuvers with South Korea will only increase Kim Jong-Un’s paranoia, making it even more likely that he will seek bigger bombs and better missiles. But the fakeness of your policy doesn’t end there.

Your stated reason for the terrorism designation is absurd. Kim Jong-Un’s assassination of his own half-brother is no more an act of terror than was Queen Elizabeth’s execution of Mary Queen of Scots. And if such acts actually count as terrorism then the U.S. belongs on the terror-sponsor list too. After all, President Obama murdered a U.S. citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki and his teenage son. And you, Mr. Trump, murdered Awlaki’s six-year-old daughter. So your designation of such assassinations as acts of terror is entirely fake. But the fakeness of your foreign policy doesn’t end at this point either.

You have become buddy-buddy with the world’s greatest sponsor of terror, Saudi Arabia. You mocked Hillary for her coziness to this regime. But what really matters is that this is the same country that has been implicated in the 9/11 attack. Even worse, you’re proposing another $7 billion in military support for the Saudi war on Yemen. But every U.S. bomb the Saudi’s drop on Yemen creates new enemies for me and increases the prospects for terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.

You could not possibly concoct a more false and dangerous foreign policy, even if that was your goal. So I’m forced to ask — IS THAT YOUR GOAL? Do you really want to “drain the swamp” or overflow it by creating more enemies to justify larger budgets for the Military Industrial Complex?

ENOUGH! I deny consent for these crazy policies. I insist you govern more like your campaign promises…

* Remove the state-sponsor-of-terrorism designation from North Korea.
* Cancel the military maneuvers with South Korea
* End U.S. military support to Saudi Arabia
* End all trade sanctions against North Korea, and other countries too, like Iran

I want you to cease isolating us from our supposed enemies and ENGAGE with them instead. Our culture is our most powerful and effective weapon. USE IT! Open up channels of trade and travel. That’s the best way to undermine despotic regimes. Do it now. And one more thing…

Don’t expect your attempts at engagement to render immediate results. It took decades for your predecessors to foul things up, and it will take at least that long to put things right.
