I learned that House leadership plans for BOTH the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) AND the USA Freedom Act to be debated and voted on THIS WEDNESDAY.
Even though…
* The 716-page NDAA (HR 4435) is chock-full of controversial provisions and spends MORE than the Pentagon wants!
* The 90-page USA FREEDOM ACT (HR 3361) is watered-down with complicated language that nobody understands
It's possible that USA Freedom reforms nothing!
WHY THE RUSH?
How is it even POSSIBLE to properly “debate” EITHER bill in just half a day?
Apparently, Congressional leaders want you to be a rubber stamp.
Will you be a worthless symbol?
Or, will you represent ME, instead of Congressional leaders?
You must tell your colleagues in the Rules Committee that you will NO LONGER vote for bills you don’t have a chance to read, amend, or debate.
Then…
Pass the Read the Bills Act, so that YOU will know the contents of future bills.
