URGENT! Your help needed to pass two important amendments

Public pressure has convinced the House Majority leadership to allow a vote on two amendments to the big annual defense spending bill.

  • One amendment by Representative Justin Amash would cut funding for NSA’s surveillance of the American public (Amendment #101)
  • The other amendment by Representative Thomas Massie would cut foreign aid to Egypt (Amendment #105)

DC Downsizers, like you, have sent messages to Congress for both of these goals.

The vote is TODAY, so please take immediate action to push these amendments to victory. We’re told that victory is a definite possibility in both cases. But not guaranteed, which is why we urge you to…

Please send your instructions to Congress using our Cut Spending campaign.

You can use the following for your personal comments . . .

Support the following amendments to the defense appropriations bill . . .

– Stop funding for the NSA’s surveillance of the American people

– Stop foreign aid to Egypt

– END –

Then, IF your Representative is a Republican, please do ONE MORE THING…

Make a note of his or her phone number before you hit the send button on this letter. We also provide the phone number in your Downsize DC Toolbox.

Use the instructions in the letter above, as your “script.”

Calls are even more valuable because of the urgency of the vote!

Also, you will receive a copy of your written message to Congress via email. Please forward it to your friends and ask them to take immediate action using our system. Make sure you give them the link to the Cut Spending campaign:

Thanks for your support. Please act quickly.

President, Inc.

P.S. Even if you can’t call until this afternoon, please do so.
