The Senate's 6,000 page CIA Torture Report brings shame to America. The sadistic cruelty my taxes paid for is stomach-churning.
Not only is torture evil, but it also doesn’t even work. No meaningful intelligence was gained from torture.
Anyone with empathy (http://bit.ly/1tbeCwo) should condemn this!
But even if you don't…
It's your JOB to support the Constitution. Torture violates perhaps three provisions…
* The Fourth Amendment's ban on unreasonable searches
* The Fifth Amendment's ban on self-incrimination
* The Eighth Amendment's ban on cruel and unusual punishments.
Create a Special Prosecutor office to put the torturers on trial, AS WELL AS THEIR BOSSES. In fact, the bosses are the most important.
If you don't, what comes next?
* Will it be okay for cops to engage in the same tactics on criminal suspects?
* Will you tell the rest of the world torture is just fine, putting Americans overseas at risk of being cruelly interrogated?
A crime fighting organization cannot also be a criminal gang. Therefore, a government that permits and encourages torture is no government at all (http://bit.ly/1wzHgal).
