IRS agents are collecting old “debts” from 400,000 taxpayers based on zero evidence. They’re even targeting innocent people whose DECEASED PARENTS allegedly received excessive benefits DECADES ago! (http://bit.ly/1i2FKTL)
A hidden provision in a six year-old, 676-page energy bill allows them to do this. That provision repealed the 10-year statute of limitations on federal collection of debts.
Nobody’s taken responsibility for writing this provision. But EVERYONE in Congress who voted for the bill is at fault for these IRS robberies.
That’s because you didn’t read the bill. It’s also because you’re in the habit of passing mammoth bills you don’t understand.
The Read the Bills Act, however, will force you to READ and UNDERSTAND the bills you pass.
REPEAL this debt provision and STOP IRS abuse.
AND, help prevent future crimes by passing the Read the Bills Act.
