Bills Passed in Congress, September 2013

The following are the bills the House and Senate passed in September. The bills were passed by voice vote except where indicated. Roll call votes for the House are found here, and for the Senate here. The descriptions of bills are essentially taken verbatim from the Congressional Record Daily Digest (Index).

Emergency Relief for Disasters Occurring in 2013: Senate passed S. 1560, to allow certain emergency relief amounts to be made available to the Federal Highway Administration to use for disasters occurring in calendar year 2013. 4 pages
 
Military Pay Appropriations: Senate passed H.R. 3210, making continuing appropriations for military pay in the event of a Government shutdown. 3 pages
   
U.S. Government Employees in Iraq: Senate passed S. 1566, to extend the period during which Iraqis who were employed by the United States Government in Iraq may be granted special immigrant status and to temporarily increase the fee or surcharge for processing machine-readable nonimmigrant visas. 6 pages
