Deadline warning plus two bonus benefits

Deadline nears. Add your name to the Downsize DC Refounders Committee. Retweet

We’ve been telling you about the 16 benefits of the new website we’re building. But we’ve thought of two more!

The first 16 benefits are listed at right, or you can read about them in detail here. Our new site will replace our old Educate the Powerful System with the Engage system from Congressional Quarterly-Roll Call (CQRC).

We’re adding those who donate to fund this transition to a Refounders Committee that will appear on our website permanently, right next to the original Founders’ Committee that launched Downsize DC. In today’s message I want to tell you that…

Here are the two additional benefits you’ll get with our new Engage system…

Bonus Benefit #1: Responsive design

Our new site will conform instantly to whatever screen you use, be it phone, tablet, or laptop/desktop.

Educate the Powerful wasn’t optimized for smaller screens. But Google ranks sites that are optimized for phone higher than those that aren’t. PLUS, since more and more people are using their phones, we believe these two factors will help us attract more and more people, who will in-turn exert more and more pressure on Congress.

Bonus Benefit #2: More responses to your letters

CQRC has an ongoing relationship with Congressional IT offices. Not only that, in many cases CQRC actually provides the software Congressional offices use to manage incoming letters from constituents. So…

You’ll be something of a Capitol Hill “insider” once we complete the switch to Engage. We think this may result in you getting more frequent response letters (we hesitate to call them “answers”).

Please remember that Refounders will be the first to see and test the new website.

Also…

  • Current pledgers are automatically Refounders.
  • One time contributors, this month, are Refounders.
  • New and increased monthly, credit card pledgers, are Refounders.
  • All Refounders get recognized in this series of messages (see below the signature) and also on the About Us page of our new site, next to the original Founders’ roster.

In fact, the Refounders below have brought this campaign from $38,000, all the way down to $6,624. So we still need YOU!

Please consider starting or increasing a monthly, credit card pledge.

Please demonstrate your confidence in our plan by investing the largest contribution that will make you feel good. Remember, your donation will be memorialized on the Refounders 2016 roster.

Thanks for your support!
