Why so long since the last episode?
As you can see, the Downsize DC team has been building things. Now that some of those items are “in place,” we’re exploding with growth! That makes it possible to do a new episode.
We’ve recruited 721 new subscribers over the last five weeks — each week a bit more than the last. That number includes 242 just last week!
Our GOAL for THIS WEEK: 250
We’re just a bit behind track but can still make it six record-breaking weeks in a row with a strong finish.
Our Facebook following is up too! June 27, we had 29,138 page likes. Yesterday, we reached 29,924.
Finally, here are our goals and progress on the funding front…
- $101 in new monthly pledges by July 28. No new pledges so far, this week.
- $1,225 in one-time donations by July 28. We’re just 24% of the way there.
As you can see, we really require your financial support. We especially need new pledges. Small amounts add up quickly, so please make your contribution today.

P.S. So far, each episode has featured three topics. Here are the previous episode links…
Debut – You’ll get to keep your doctor, a broken promise. Why are private practice, general practitioners going away? Jim introduces We Do Better’s Universal Charitable Credit Act, an alternative to inefficient state welfare. And what is “post-statism?”
#2: In this episode, Jim and Howard tackle the Dick’s Sporting Goods memo regarding their actions in the wake of the Parkland, FL shooting. Then, Jim explains the history of government involvement in healthcare. Then finally, the guys discuss the dangers of power and obedience, in the light of the Stanford Prison and Milgram experiments.
#3: How Downsize DC is restoring your property rights vis-a-vis the Fourth Amendment. Also, analysis of why John Bolton would be a dangerous appointment to the Trump administration. Finally, Howard asks whether or not libertarians are isolationists, and Jim comes back with a surprising perspective that demonstrates how libertarians can actually be interventionists!
